Mossberg Adds Optic-Ready MC2c Compact to Pistol Line

NORTH HAVEN, CT – June 2022– Mossberg has redesigned their MC2c (compact) 9mm pistol with an optic-ready slide that allows for the direct mounting of micro-dot optics (Shield RMS footprint) and increased capacity with its double-stack magazines. The MC2c Optic Ready pistol comes with a 14-round flush and 16-round extended magazine, and available models include a standard version with white 3-dot sights; an option with TRUGLO® Tritium Pro™ Night sights; and a standard version with reversible cross-bolt safety. A 10-round standard version, which includes two 10-round magazines, is available for areas where magazine capacity is restricted.

Introduced in 2020, the MC2c combines superior ergonomics, ultra-slim profile, and performance-driven features which make this pistol a great option for concealed carry or home protection. The MC2c frame is constructed of glass-reinforced polymer and the slides are stainless steel with Black DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for rigidity and chemical resistance. The slide features angled serrations, both front, and rear, for positive slide manipulation and the slim-profile grip has an added palm swell and is angled at 18 degrees, naturally pointing like 1911. Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing on the grip provides for a more confident, firm grip. MC2c pistols also have a reversible magazine release, located behind the trigger guard, and the cross-bolt safety, on select models, is reversible for right or left-handed shooters. And integrated into the slide is the Mossberg STS™ (Safe Takedown System), which, unlike competitive products, does not require the user to pull the trigger to disassemble for routine cleaning or maintenance.

The MC2c features a 3.9-inch barrel and has an overall length of 7.10 inches; surprisingly-slim width of 1.10 inches; a height of 4.90 inches; and weighs in at 21 ounces (unloaded). Other standard features include dovetail-mounted, low-profile white 3-dot sights (drift adjustable); stainless steel barrel with cut-broached rifling, 1-in-16 twist rate, and black DLC finish; front accessory rail; oversized trigger guard; and flat-profile trigger with integrated blade safety, reduced overtravel, and approximate 5.5-pound trigger pull weight.

And now, integrated into the MC2c slide is a removable plate that allows for direct mounting of an optic (Shield RMS footprint) that facilitates co-witness with the white 3-dot sights. Compared to standard sights, an optic-equipped pistol offers increased accuracy and speed and will provide a much easier time employing the sight for shooters with older or ailing eyes.

The MC2c flush 14-round and extended 16-round double-stack magazines are constructed of coated steel which offers low friction and superior wear resistance. The magazines also feature easy-to-remove floorplates for ease of cleaning and high-visibility followers.

Mossberg over-delivers with the featured-packed MC2c 9mm pistol; comfortable in your hand, easily concealable, and optic-ready. For more information on the complete line of Mossberg handguns, please visit www.mossberg.com.
