The GLOCK G17 rocked the American firearm landscape with its introduction in 1986. Following the success of GLOCK’s Pistole 80 issued for use in the Austrian Military, GLOCK set up a shop in Georgia and set out to produce the now-iconic handgun for the US. Named by Gaston Glock for his 17th patent, the pistol was introduced as the GLOCK 17.
