Announcing the Third Generation of the Keltec SUB2000 (it Rotates)

Cocoa, Florida– January 2024– Introducing the 9mm SUB2000 GEN3. The most significant new twist? Literally, the single twist-and-fold motion of the patent-pending rotating forend. Release the barrel assembly with a lever, twist the forend in either direction, and snap it into place.

Other GEN3 updates include many “quality of life” improvements such as an aluminum trigger, lightened trigger pull, and an ambidextrous bolt hold-open. Plus a redesigned operating handle with a new easy-pullback action and yes, it still takes Glock mags.

The biggest update is the rotating forend that comes standard on every SUB2000 GEN3. Mounted optics and accessories now easily rotate out of the way for folding. Getting back in action is easy with a simple, singlehanded maneuver that maintains a seamless, quick deployment. No need for additional accessories.

The action of the SUB2000 now features a redesigned operating handle for added comfort, a lightened action for easy racking, and an ambidextrous bolt hold-open. All additions provide for improved “weapons manipulation.”

The GEN3 has a new aluminum trigger and redesigned trigger mechanics making for a lightened, 5 lb trigger pull. This updated trigger provides the user with more precise feedback for a clean, isolated trigger pull, translating into increased accuracy and follow-up shots.

While not a replacement for standard firearm safety practices, a new chamber indicator has been added to the SUB2000 GEN3 to further assist the user in operating the firearm safely. This visual indicator is in the form of a peephole on the top of the firearm above the chamber. The brass case of the ammunition is visible through the peephole when a round is chambered.
