Accokeek, Maryland – February 2024– While today’s technologically advanced long-range chassis and high-dollar custom rifles may get most of the headlines and the glory, the humble lever-action rifle is the one platform that never goes out of style. As hunters and recreational shooters from all walks hear the call of this American legacy firearm, Uberti USA brings the legendary 1873-pattern rifle into the 21st century with the all-new 1873 Hunter Rifle series.

Based on Uberti’s deep bench of 1873 rifles and carbines, the new 1873 Hunter Rifles are heirloom-quality replicas of the famous Gun “That Won the West.” Now, 150 years after the original 1873 Winchester’s introduction, Uberti has developed two fresh models intended for the modern hunter.
The 1873 Hunter Rifles come chambered for the legacy .45 LC and the popular.44 Magnum cartridges—both of which have proven themselves to be formidable medium- and large-size game rounds. Where the 1873 Hunter Rifles differ from their precursors is found just forward of the receiver. Uberti designers took advantage of their half-octagon barrel profile to install a conventional Picatinny rail. With this factory mounting solution, shooters can install a scout-style, long-eye-relief magnified scope or a conventional red dot optic for hunting applications.
Both the .45 LC and the .44 Magnum models feature a 20-inch barrel that overrides a long 10-round magazine tube. A checkered walnut forend and pistol grip stock maintain the legacy look and feel while a rubber buttpad offers comfortable, no-slip mounting and recoil mitigation.
