NRA Whittington Center, Raton, New Mexico– October 2024– KGM Suppressors is proud to announce and congratulate Richie Young on his outstanding performance at the 2024 King of 2 Miles (Ko2M) Global Finals, where he was crowned the King with a first-place finish.
This monumental achievement marks the first-ever victory at Ko2M using a suppressed rifle, and KGM is thrilled to have been the suppressor of choice. Adding to the remarkable accomplishment, Young’s spotter, Josh Silby, claimed second place, earning the title of Prince, in an unprecedented one-two finish.
Young’s winning rifle had the following specs:
- Caliber: .416 HF on a Pierce Engineering 10X action
- Suppressor: KGM R50 Suppressor
- Barrel: 36” Lilja Barrel, Fluted
- Optics: Nightforce ATACR 7-35x F1, MIL-XT Reticle
- Chassis: Fusion Pro Chassis with Custom Height Scope Rail
- Bipod: AccuTac HD50 Bipod with Skis
- Level: MDT Send It Level
- Mount: Spuhr Scope Mount
- Other Equipment: TacomHQ Bravo, Rifles Only Suppressor Cover
- Bullet: Cutting Edge Bullets 550gr Lazer at 2885 FPS
Richie Young’s skill and precision, combined with the unmatched performance of the KGM R50 suppressor, led to a victory that not only showcased the capabilities of both the shooter and the equipment but also highlighted the revolutionary advancements in suppressed shooting. The KGM R50 suppressor significantly reduced recoil, provided optimal sound reduction and maintained pinpoint accuracy—qualities identified as contributors to success.
“The performance of KGM suppressors has been a dream come true,” said Richie Young. “The combination of sound reduction, recoil management, and perfect accuracy is more than any shooter could ask for. This win wouldn’t have been possible without KGM’s incredible support and the superior performance of their suppressors.”
The event saw another competition, the King’s Gambit, held at the NRA Whittington Center’s Spring Canyon course, where Josh Silby took 1st place, while Richie Young secured 3rd. Both competitors also used KGM R50 suppressors throughout the event.
Earlier this year, Silby set a world record using one of KGM’s VA SILENT ARSENAL rifles, achieving the furthest impact in competition at 4344 yards. Even after having to remove the KGM R50 suppressor to accommodate additional equipment, Silby’s ability to make a first-round impact showed the minimal, if any, point-of-impact (POI) shift change of the system—another testament to the inherent precision and quality of KGM suppressors.
KGM congratulates Richie Young and Josh Silby on their extraordinary achievements and is honored to have its suppressors contributing to the success of elite shooters on the world stage. KGM Suppressors remains dedicated to advancing the performance of precision shooting through innovative designs and unparalleled quality.
