In its five decades as the worldwide leader in defensive firearms training, Gunsite Academy and its founder, Jeff Cooper, have been the driving force behind innovations in training and techniques for the gunfighter. As a result, no single person or facility has had as much influence across the pistol realm, from defensive training to military/police training to practical pistol competition sports as Gunsite.
Gunsite graduate Rob Leatham is one of those people influenced. Rob has become the most successful practical competitive shooter in the history of IPSC, USPSA, Steel Challenge, IDPA, and NRA Action Pistol.
In this new class offering, Rob focuses on speed and accuracy and assisted by Gunsite Rangemasters Lew Gosnell and Randy Watt, will take already skilled shooters to a higher level in firearms handling along with high levels of accuracy.
The class will be offered one (1) time and requires a Gunsite Marksman 1 Level graduate of 350 or above. In addition, the Wilson 5×5 drill will be used early on day 1 requiring a score of 40 or better.
Gunsite CEO Ken Campbell remarked, “Gunsite is excited for Rob to return to his roots of his early training career. (We have a photo of 14-year-old Rob, his father, and Jeff Cooper working on the South Range.) This course focuses on two of the three tenants of our training: Gun handling and Marksmanship, also including the requisite power, quickness, and accuracy. It is for the experienced Gunsite graduate, taking them to another level focusing on speed and accuracy. I took an early version of this class with Rob recently and was sufficiently humbled!”
