Madero quickly became a pivotal figure in Mexican history due to his role in the Mexican Revolution. His greatest achievement is widely recognized as challenging the long-standing dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. Madero is credited with initiating democratic reforms that would go on to transform Mexico’s political landscape.
A wealthy landowner and political activist, Madero authored La Sucesión Presidencial en 1910 (translated: The Presidential Succession of 1910) in which he called for fair elections and democratic governance. His ideas resonated with many Mexicans dissatisfied with Díaz’s authoritarian rule. When Díaz attempted to suppress his opposition, Madero led a revolutionary movement that forced Díaz to resign in 1911, marking a significant victory for democracy in Mexico.
“Though Madero’s presidency was short-lived, his legacy has lasted for generations,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. “He is an undeniably important figure in Mexico’s battle for independence and democracy, and we are proud to honor his place in the history books. His contributions are significant for Mexico and the world as a whole, and they should not be forgotten.”
As president, Madero sought to implement political and social reforms. He promoted freedom
of the press, encouraged democratic participation, and worked to curb the influence of powerful elites. He also aimed to address land reform. Despite his good intentions, Madero faced significant opposition from conservatives, foreign interests, and even former allies. His inability to maintain unity ultimately led to his overthrow and assassination in 1913 during La Decena Trágica (translated: Ten Tragic Days).
Keeping the common elements of the Pancho Villa, Venustiano Carranza, and Pascual Orozco productions, the series continues with a depiction of the “Monument to the Revolution” in Mexico City.
Wrapped around the slide is a cannas lily, which is native to Mexico, along with an illustration of Madero in 24k Gold plated on horseback with his supporters and army. The still
popular slogan of the Revolution, “Sufragio Efectivo No Reelección” (translated: Effective suffrage, no re-election,) is engraved inside a 24k Gold banner.
The right side of the slide depicts a 24k Gold illustration of Presidente Madero and his advisors with the word “Triunfante” (translated: triumphant). To complete the firearm, a portrait of Madero sits on top of the slide and just below the iconic Mexican Eagle respective to its era.
This installment is available for purchase here, with an MSRP starting at $3,000.
The new La Revolucion series will begin shipping in late April 2025.
