We’ve built numerous rifles using the most popular lightweight folding chassis systems, and they’re simply not as accurate or forgiving to shoot as a true long-range rifle system like our AllTerra-X platform. We set out to create the most accurate, lightweight takedown-style hunting rifle. The AllTerra ANSR-X is it.
To get here, we ditched the status quo of a hinge mechanism – the easy and obvious solution that everyone else uses in their folding stocks and chassis. Hinges are heavy, and they don’t allow the butt end of the rifle to fold into the lowest possible profile. Instead, we engineered a lightweight and robust mortise and tenon joint out of carbon fiber.
The precision fit and surface area of this joint positively secures the butt end into the rear of the shooting hand grip, without the need for any additional hardware to function perfectly. When removed, the butt end of the ANSR-X quickly and safely secures to the side of the stock. Our result versus a hinge mechanism produces a lighter, smaller, and more versatile compact rifle system. With the butt-end plugged into shoot, there’s zero loss in accuracy versus our standard AllTerra-X rifle.
