Team Beretta Dominates at 2021 National Sporting Clays Championship

Accokeek, MD – Team Beretta shooters recently achieved 12 podium finishes during the 2021 National Sporting Clays Championship at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, TX.

Team Beretta members in attendance at this competition included Joseph Fanizzi, Meagan Harrington, Anthony Matarese, Jr., Zachary Kienbaum, Desirae Edmunds, Dominic Gross, Diane Sorantino, and Jared Greenwood.

Fanizzi, who shoots with a Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting, secured both the HOA National Champion and Junior National Champion title with a superb score of 284 out of 300 targets. With his outstanding performance this season that showcased HOA or junior champion event podium titles in almost all of the regional tournaments and top podium prizes at the World FITASC Championship, Fanizzi also ended the 2021 season with the honor of being named the 2021 NSCA Championship Tour HOA Champion.

In addition to those top prizes, Fanizzi secured a junior third-place podium finish in the 5-Stand event with a score of 89/100 targets.

Harrington, competing with a Beretta 694, achieved a top spot in the main event last weekend and was crowned as the 2021 Ladies National Champion with a great score of 272 out of 300 targets. As the end cap of a strong season, Harrington also secured a ladies third-place podium honor in the 2021 NSCA Championship Tour.

For both Fanizzi and Harrington, these National titles mark the first National Champion podium wins of their careers at the top of their respective categories. Fanizzi has won several sub-junior and junior National titles in past seasons, but this event marks his first national championship win over all other competitors (HOA).

Matarese, who shoots with a Beretta DT11 L, was named as the FITASC HOA Champion with a score of 96 out of 100 targets after a tense shoot-off with 3 other competitors, including fellow teammate Dominic Gross. Matarese capped his season as the 2021 FITASC Grand Slam Champion after several other top scores in FITASC events throughout the year.

Kienbaum, shooting with his Beretta DT11, obtained two runner-up podium wins in the main and 20 Gauge events with scores of 283/300 and 95/100 targets.

Edmunds achieved a ladies champion podium win in the Beretta Super Sporting Challenge event with a solid score of 92 targets out of 100.

Gross, who shoots with a Beretta SO5, rounded out a strong performance with a third-place podium win in the FITASC event with a score of 96 out of 100 targets.

Sorantino secured a ladies third-place podium finish in the K-Kup event with a score of 89 out of 100 targets.

Greenwood competed against some tough competitors and scored within the top ten of each event in which he was entered.

Team Beretta shooters will start the 2022 season with the 2022 Gator Cup hosted at Cherokee Rose Sporting Clays in Griffin, GA from March 15-20, 2022.
