Dark Series rifles are packed with new features to provide consumers with more function and versatility. This model sports a strong, nylon-reinforced polymer stock with M-LOK® attachment slots, flush cup sockets for QD sling swivels, an included cheek riser for an optimum sight picture when using an optic and a generous recoil pad. The anodized aluminum handguard also features M-LOK attachment slots and QD sockets. And, for the first time, the mid-sized finger lever has a unique flare on the bottom for more comfortable cycling.
Major components of the alloy steel rifle feature a black Cerakote finish for improved durability and weather resistance. The bolt and lever have a nitride finish for superior wear protection. The 16.17″ hammer-forged barrel comes with a highly effective, removable radial muzzle break installed for recoil reduction. A thread protector is also packaged with the rifle. The rifle is equipped with a receiver-mounted Picatinny rail, an adjustable ghost ring rear sight and a fiber optic and tritium front sight.
“The lever-action market has evolved in recent years,” continued Killoy. “And while we will always embrace tradition with the classic configurations, this new Dark Series Model 1895 rifle shows how Marlin lever actions can appeal to a broader variety of firearms enthusiasts.”
Ruger-made Marlin rifles are marked “Mayodan, NC” and bear an “RM” or Ruger-made serial number prefix.
Additional models, in different calibers and configurations, are planned to be released throughout the coming year. Due to the anticipated strong demand and limited quantity of Ruger-made Marlin lever-action rifles, Ruger encourages retailers to contact their distributors for availability and advises consumers not to leave deposits with retailers that do not have confirmed shipments.
