In rifle silhouette, the winner of the grand aggregate is required to demonstrate consistency and discipline to master the two different rifle types: Hunter and Standard Rifle. These two sub-sections of silhouette, though similar, do test different skill sets. It is the rare marksman who can place near the top with both rifles.

The 2023 Texas Smallbore Silhouette State Championships were held on November 11-12th at the Bayou Rifles Gun Club in Houston, TX. The two-day match had shooters aiming at steel targets consisting of 10 chickens at 40 meters, 10 pigs at 60 meters, 10 turkeys at 77 meters, and 10 rams at 100 meters.

“Having Jake as a member of Team SK and training with SK’s Rifle Match has truly allowed us to showcase how SK’s passion can lead to an individual’s success, commented Geoff Esterline, SK’s Marketing Director. “We’d like to congratulate Jake on a very successful 2023 competition shooting season!”
