From our lucky friends at Magpul:
We’ve been to Buck Doyle’s Scoped Carbine class at Follow Through Consulting and know firsthand just how good he is as an instructor.
When we heard Buck was a match director for The Paloma Challenge, an NRL Hunter match at the huge, scenic Paloma Ranch in Folsom, NM, we jumped at the chance to go.

NRL, or National Rifle League, governs its own versions of long-range precision rifle competition under realistic field conditions. The NRL Hunter matches require two-shooter teams to range and engage lifelike steel animal targets out to 1,000 yards under time, and from different shooting positions.

NRL Hunter competitors use hunting-style rifles, optics and accessories divided into different competition classes – Open Heavy, Open Light, and Factory – based on overall weight of the rifle plus its support equipment.

Check out our video to hear some wisdom from Buck, and see how NRL Hunter competitors deal with match pressure, varied terrain, and ever-changing wind conditions. It certainly looks fun to us. Would you be up for the Paloma Challenge?
